Moldova

Moldova is a beautiful warm country that borders with the Ukraine and Romania and located not far from the Black Sea.

Moldovan Leu is an official currency of the country. People speak the Moldavian language that has a lot in common with French and Spanish.

Moldova is famous for its picturesque nature. In Chisinau and not far from the city there’re a lot of parks and lakes. Probably the the most famous one is Lake Valea Morilor.

Lake Valea Morilor is a pond and a park at the same time. It was created by Komsomol members in early 1950s. It was a favorite place to spend time at for everyone who lived in the city but unfortunately there was an environmental incident and it was drained in 2006. Only in 2011 they started filling the pond with water again.

Another picturesque place in Chisinau is Rose Valley park. There are three big lakes in the middle of the park and and a lot of oaks and chestnut trees around it.

Not far from Chisinau there is a city called Bendery that is famous for Bender Fortress.
The Bendery fortress is an architectural monument of the 16th century, the walls of which have survived to this day in their original form, one of the main attractions of the city of the same name. The fortress was erected on the right bank of the Dniester River, by order of the Turkish Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, who at that time controlled the Moldavian principality.

On the territory of Moldova there is a multi-level cave Kriva, which is one of the largest caves in the world.
